Our aims and goals
The sole aim of Equip4 is to make disciples who then go and make disciples.
This training charity was founded by Leigh Coates in 2016 after he, his wife Bec and the Hope Whitby team had started and expanded the decentrilised model of church.
Leigh, being a keen networker, pioneer and coach, connected with other leaders around the country and afar. From this he found that God had given them a unique style of church. After further development, Leigh started to feed some of the ideas and experiences they used into the 'missional movement.'
Equip4 now has the experiences and platform to help other networks, denominations, churches and leaders to change a culture.
Leigh states that he passionate about releasing people in their God given gifts, and also believes that the five fold ministry is an important tool that God gave to equip His church. He has done a lot of research on social spaces, which he believes are a great tool to release gospel communities in any circumstance. Leigh has experience of a very centralised/traditional, hub/releasing churches to be a completely decentralised model.
His aim in this whole project is to pass on what God has given him, whether that is preaching or teaching or showing God's power through praying for healing and miracles.
Leigh does not want any personal profit from this project, all he would ask is for his costs to be covered, then all proceeds will go back into mission on the Yorkshire Coast and afar. Hope Whitby will also benefit from this ministry as they release Leigh from being their senior leader to do this work. They will keep building on their amazing expansion up and down the coastline.
Quote 'I have had the privilege of working with some of what I would call the top missional leaders in the world. I love to learn and pass on the information to others, I could burst with excitement!'
